Exploring Iligan- The City of Majestic Waterfalls
When visiting Iligan, waterfalls chasing is the most famous activity in Philippines. It is one of urban centres of Northern Mindanao and also known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. There are 23 Waterfalls in Iligan as:
Maria Cristinal Falls: Its water come from Lake Lanao plunges into the Agus River. It is also the primary source of electric power of the city, harnessed by Agus VI Hydroelectric plant.
Tinago Falls: It is one of the most visited waterfalls. It has a small cave under it, where people can enter and the trek can be hassle. It has very beautiful lagoon which make this trip memorable.
Mimbalot Falls: It is one of the tourist attractions of Iligan. It is surrounded by green trees and rocks that making it more appealing. It also provides unique cold water for swimming.
Pampam Falls: It is about 13 kilometres away from the city proper. It is one of the most accessible waterfalls in the city.
Dodiongan Falls: It is a 24 feet high waterfall that is situated in Brgy, Bonbonon, Iligan city.
Dalipuga Falls: It is just a few minutes trek from the jump off point to the waterfall. It is a small waterfall and the basin is not that enticing to swim.
Kalubihon Falls: It is situated in Barangay Dalipuga, Iligan city. It is a small waterfall but its location inside a cave makes it an attractive place to visit. It is streamline with Pampam Falls and Dalipuga Falls.
Limunsudan Falls: It is two tiered waterfall located in Sitio Limunsudan Brgy, that is 50 kms from the city. It is standing at 870 ft. tall and is the Philippine’s highest waterfall.
Pindarangahan Falls: It is 27.5 kms from the city proper and located in Brgy. Rogongon.
Kibalang Falls: It is 35.5 km from city proper and also located in Brgy. Rogongon.
Hindang Falls: It is located at hinterland Brgy. Hindang. It is 20 km. from city. Hindang is a 40 ft. High two tiered waterfall with a lagoon ideal for swimming.
Laguyon Falls: Laguyon is a local term which means swim in English. It is 14 kms from the city proper and located in Brgy. Pugaan.
Linanot Falls: It is 11 km. From the city proper, it is located in Brgy. Bunawan.
Bridal Veil Falls: It is an amazing waterfall in Philippines taht is located at Brgy. Buru-un.
Abaga Falls: This is a waterfall as well as ecosystem that is 15 kms southwest of Lligan city and It is on the island Mindanao, Philippines
Maligang Falls: This fall is 14 kms from the city proper and located in Brgy. Digkilaan.
Malapacan Falls: It is located in Brgy, Mainit and it is 15 kms away from the city proper.
Some other waterfalls of Iligan are: Guimbalolan Falls, Pindarangahan Falls, Gata Falls, Rogongon Falls, Dodiongon Falls, Malinao Falls, Langilanon Falls and Kamadahan Falls. These are also tourist attractions of Iligan.
