Top 6 Places To Take A US Holiday
The United States are often a top holiday choice for UK residents due to the sheer amount of opportunities available. You could visit a bustling city, spend time gambling in the desert, or even rent a cabin in the woods near to the Rocky Mountains. The size of this country means it spreads over incredible terrain and 6 time zones, so you’re guaranteed to find something to suit any taste. Still, if you’ve never been before, knowing which area you should visit first can be a little tricky and will depend heavily on the type of experience you’re after. Some people like the tourism hubs, others prefer something a little different.
In this article, I’ll attempt to inspire you by letting you know about some of the coolest locations that you could visit in the US without too much hassle. So, take a moment to read through and see if you like any of my suggestions.
-
New York. Home to some of the most respected theaters and restaurants in the entire country, The Big Apple is finally starting to get back to normal after the rather dramatic incident in 2001. Here you’ll find such icons as the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and the Empire State Building to name but a few.
-
Miami. If like Will Smith you can’t resist going to Miami, you’ll be glad to head that accommodation can be obtained relatively cheaply online from companies like Venere.com, meaning you’ll have much more cash for attractions and sightseeing. Also, as California is on the Atlantic coast, the weather is fantastic during most of the year.
-
Chicago. Often referred to as America’s second city, this location is a real beacon of the midwest and plays host to impeccable restaurants and a shopping district to die for. Just make sure you take some time to visit Millenium Park and the Willis Tower if you really want to experience something awe-inspiring.
-
New Orleans. For anyone who enjoys good food and music, you won’t go far wrong with a break in the home of blues and jazz. US citizens call it The Big Easy because of the laidback, mom and pops feel you get when spending time in the area. Once the manufacturing hub of most of Northern America, now the place has a more sleepy feel – until carnival time that is!
-
San Francisco. Suitable for both nature lovers and modernised jet-setters, this city is probably best symbolised by the red rafters of the internationally recognisable Golden Gate Bridge, but don’t think for one second that’s all The City by the Bay has to offer. With a fantastic museum of modern art and even Alcatraz prison, this place is steeped in history and guaranteed to leave you satisfied.
-
Las Vegas. Finally, no list of US destinations would be complete without mentioning Sin City. Located in the middle of the Nevada desert with miles of sand on every border, this city is often called the gambling capital of the world thanks to its many high-end casinos. If you’re considering flying here, you might want to make sure you bring a lot of spending money because even the shortest of breaks can become very expensive. Still, it’s worth it.
Well, there you have it my Americaphile friends. Wherever you choose to go, I hope you have a life-changing experience and come back with memories you’ll take to the grave.
Catch you soon…
