What are the Best Tours in San Diego?
People sometimes assume that they know what the best tours in San Diego include. This is an assumption that both local people and visitors hold but it is not always true. There are dozens of places in the area that might be candidates for things on this list. Many of these are ones that people might not instantly think about.
What are people looking for?
For people from out of state or from other countries, many are looking for the “California experience.” This can mean different things to different people but can have diverse elements such as blonde people, citrus fruit like oranges, salsa, surfers, the beach, history, movie stars and other celebrities, theme parks, wild animals, cowboys or other stereotypical things. The fact is that San Diego is a mix of these features but also quite a few more.
There are people that want to see the traditional tourist stops. These can include the Zoo, theme parks, Balboa Park and its museums, Old Town with features like the Whaley House, the harbor or other attractions in the area. People that have been here more than once or that are local may be looking for something a bit different.
Different things for different people
Couples and adult groups may be interested in completely different things than families. While families are usually seeking things to entertain the kids to a certain degree, couples and adult groups may want something more unique.
Some of the two most recent additions to the lineup of tours in the area are paranormal tours and food or restaurant tours. The paranormal kinds often focus on prominent sites such as the Whaley House in Old Town as well as other homes and businesses in the downtown area. These tours are not for everyone.
Food tours appeal to a wide range of people, whether visitors or people from the area. Many of these feature a specific neighborhood and take people on a walking tour of different restaurants. People get to sample food from each restaurant on the tour. These tours often expose people to a lot of different kinds of food in one day so it is very likely that people will find a few places they will want to visit later.
People do have to purchase tickets in advance for these tours and not just “show up” with cash in hand. The reason for this is to limit the group to a manageable size but also to make sure that each restaurant on the tour has enough food prepared for the group.
